There's a new and wonderful game in town referred to as Puzzle League! For a million times I have heard the similarities between the game bejeweled and tetris, therefore why don't combine the strength of both? Both Tetris and Bejeweled have lots of clones on the web, for instance after the successful bejeweled 2 the game developers PopCap have just released bejeweled 3. As for Tetris the traditional arcade version still interests me most.
So the aim of Puzzle League gets a little from both ends. The concept of connecting three similar colored jewels we know from the game Bejeweled. When that happens it actually asks all of the puzzle skills you own. When you remove a row of colored blocks, the ones lying on top will shift down. This is an issue that makes the game interesting: by playing away the colored blocks in a proper way, you could make large combos by same colored blocks landing on top of one another. At first you might be lucky several times, but wait until you truly get the hang of it! This is when the elements of Tetris and bejeweled do their addictive trick.
A fantastic thing about Puzzle League is the developers of the game have put numerous game types to keep the game exciting for a while. For instance the game contains Endless mode, which speaks for itself. Then you have Garbage mode, that keeps on nagging you with unnecessary blocks. When you give the game a try, you'll discover for yourself. Lastly the thing that was truly a nice addition: you can play the game on the internet using the Nintendo Wi-Fi connection against one other opponent. Wireless play allows you to battle up to four players.
