Paid To Play Video Games - Getting Past The Scammers

Are there people who really get paid to play video games? Or, could it be that it is merely a big fat lie that serves no real purpose? The fact is, folks are indeed getting paid to play video game titles each and every day. Although, the phrase "play" ordinarily loses some of it's meaning with this particular kind of job.

Among the major misguided beliefs about playing games for cash is that it's all fun and games. You get to sit back, relax, play amazing new video game titles, and be able to collect a big fat check at the end of it all. That would really be an incredible career; but alas, it's not the way it really works. Rather than trying to play a video game for fun -- be it on an xbox 360, playstation 3, Wii, or even a PC -- you are going to be "testing & evaluating" different games as part of a task.

You heard correctly, professional video game testers aren't paid to have tons of enjoyment playing the latest and greatest gaming titles -- they're paid to test and evaluate new video games for developers. Nothing More, Nothing Less.

Unsurprisingly enough, the most standard reaction to the above is "what's the difference between playing & testing?" Well, it's simple really. Whenever you play a videogame, you would explore & "beat" a level and move onto the next. When you are responsible for TESTING a video-game, you'll explore & conquer an area and then RESTART that area and play it again. You won't repeat this 1 time, 2 times, or 3 times. You do this many, many times until you have found every one of the glitches & bugs in the area. This could mean playing a particular section of a video game a few dozen times, if not MORE, to make certain that you have located all possible problems. Does this seem like a "exciting job" to you? Probably NOT!

Don't get the wrong idea here. Professional video game testers will be able to have plenty of fun doing their job -- it's just that the fun is not near the amount many gamers think it is. Rather than drinking soft drinks, eating lots of fast food, and spending time with buddies playing great games, testers are really working to make video games more fun for the hordes of waiting gamers out there.

When you're a gamer and want to get paid to play video games, then a job as a video game tester is exactly what you've been searching for. Not only can it fulfill your financial needs, but you may very well start a lucrative career in the process!
